Resolutions Passed By Second Vermont People's Assembly Against The War

The People’s Assembly Against The War
Barre, Vermont, April 5th, 2003

On April 5th, 2003, a People’s Assembly Against the War was held in the working class granite town of Barre, Vermont. This assembly was a continuation of the first People’s Assembly, attended by more than 250 common Vermonters, held in the State House of Montpelier immediately following the U.S. invasion of Iraq. This second assembly, open to any and all Vermonters, drew more than 50 common Vermonters, including teachers, blue collar workers, labor union members, Anarchists from the Free Society Collective and the Green Mountain Anarchist Collective (a NEFAC Support Collective), young and old alike. At said assembly, various strategies where discussed regarding how we, as common citizens, can come to stop the current war of aggression waged by the Bush administration against the people of Iraq. Furthermore, this assembly has adopted the two below resolutions. These resolutions where presented, discussed, debated, amended, and adopted by an open and directly democratic process.
