Neo-Nazis Attack Punks In Somerville

From the Boston Herald:

Local punkers, Philly skinheads brawl

by Dave Wedge Wednesday, November 19, 2003

A feud between a local punk rock group and a gang of Pennsylvania skinheads turned violent Sunday morning when one of the out-of-town party-crashers allegedly smashed a Somerville man in the head with a sledgehammer.

"It appears this was a house party, a group crashed the party and a fight ensued," Somerville police Lt. Paul Trant said.

According to police and witnesses, members of the Keystone State Skinheads crashed a party on McGrath Highway about 4:30 a.m., sparking a brawl with members of the punk band, State Control, who were playing at the bash. Witnesses said a number of party-goers were bloodied, including one who was dragged down the stairs and hit in the head with a sledgehammer.

No one was arrested. The victim, Kevin Adams, was listed in stable condition last night at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Trant said the feud apparently began Nov. 10 during a show at the Safari Lounge in Providence when two "punkers" and a "skinhead" had a fight outside the club.

"One of the suspects made a reference during the fight about (the Providence) incident," Trant said of Sunday's melee.

According to their Web site, the Keystone State Skinheads, based in Philadelphia, are a white power group that endorses violence against their enemies. Three members were charged in March with assaulting a black man with a brick in Scranton, Pa.
