(Toronto) STRIKE TO WIN SOLIDARITY RALLY At Sheraton Gateway

The strike at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport (Terminal 3) continues into its seventh week. Over 150 workers have been on strike since July 30, 2003. The previous contract expired over one year ago and HERE Local 75 members are fighting for a fair collective agreement including protections from subcontracting. Hotel workers believe that their multinational employer Starwood Hotels, is using the devastation caused by SARS as economic pressure against their employees to accept less than what they deserve.

Buses will leave from downtown Toronto. Please contact the Union at the number below if you require space on the buses.

Supporters can also take TTC buses to terminal 3 from the Kipling station. The bus drops you off at the arrival level of Terminal 3, just below the main picket line (and rally location), which is directly in front of the terminal on the departure level at the Hotel entrance.

In Solidarity,
Bill Fitzpatrick
