WE STAND FIRM: RECOGNIZE THE UNION OR THE SHOW WILL
NOT GO ON!
Somerville Projectionists Update 5/20

Projectionists at the Somerville Theatre in Davis
Square demand union recognition, better pay, health
benefits, a healthy work environment and workplace
democracy.

LOCKED OUT?

Two weeks have passed since we made our unconditional
offer to return to work, yet the management of the
Somerville Theatre still refuses to give hours to any
of the projectionists who struck for recognition.
Their underhanded tactics are not fooling anyone. We
know a lock out when we see one.

MANAGEMENT'S DIRTY TRICKS

The management has hired scab replacements, who have
never worked as projectionists, in an attempt to stuff
the ballot box with anti-union votes and artificially
"win" the NLRB election. They have also told the NLRB
that the assistant managers are also projectionists,
which is not true. This has all been done in an
attempt to undermine the fact that an overwhelming
majority of the projectionists have signed union
cards.

NO BUSINESS AS USUAL: BOYCOTT UNION BUSTING THEATRES!

Let's show Mel that we will not tolerate his
union-busting tactics by refusing to patronize the two
Fraiman Enterprises Inc. (FEI) theatres. If he's going
to play dirty, let's hit him where it hurts! Spread
the word: BOYCOTT THE SOMERVILLE & CAPITOL (ARLINGTON)
THEATRES.

THE MAN BEHIND THIS "INDEPENDENT" THEATRE

Feel uncomfortable boycotting an "independent"
theatre? Let's put your mind to rest. Mel Fraiman owns
assets (residential and commercial properties in
Somerville and Arlington) exceeding $10 million. He
has additional assets in Cambridge and Belmont, as
well foundation (exceeding $1 million) in his name. We
feel that Mel is more than capable of paying all of
his workers a living wage.

PICKETS THIS WEEKEND - Friday & Saturday, May 23-24,
5pm Davis Square!

Let's come back with our largest showing on the picket
line this weekend.
