100 Pro-Choice Activists Rally In LOVE Park

Around noon on Thursday, November 12, LOVE Park become the convergence point of Philadelphia area Pro-Choice activists rallying to respark a movement to defend women's reproductive rights. Organizations such as NARAL(formerly The National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League), National Organization of Women, Planned Parenthood, and the Anarcho-Communist Union of Philadelphia, occupied the park in order to suppress their rage over Bush's attempt at abolishing reproductive rights in the U.S. After last week's signing of the bill which virtually bans all 2nd trimester abortions, Bush is currently walking on political eggshells.

The liberal advocate organizations expressed their desire to push for extreme lobbying efforts in order to save Roe vs. Wade. ACUP unfurled a large banner that read, "Smash Patriarchy! For Women's Freedom! For a Stateless and Classless Society!" Though there were obvious differences in the various feminist tendencies presented, there was generally a feeling of solidarity between all off the organizations, and everyone was suprised to see a bit of a turnout from various unaffiliated individuals.

The rally was a great chance to network and build for the HUGE historic national march that's being planned for Washington D.C. on April 25, 2004. For more info check back here at nefac.net

Let's show the ruling class that they have no legal right over women's bodies!!!
